Vehicle-financing deals turn a low-margin gig into a leveraged one: when fares fall or fuel spikes, the daily instalment is still due. That is the dynamic behind driver strikes in Lagos, Nairobi and Kampala.
What it would do
Track real net earnings across platforms, model a financing offer before it is signed, and show the break-even a driver needs to clear each day.
Honest caution
Market-size figures for African gig work are weakly sourced, and monetising a product for people with thin margins is genuinely hard. This is a real problem with an unproven business model.
