Why data is the product
Data cost is the household budget line every other app competes with. The average Sub-Saharan smartphone uses about 5.3GB a month, and that is the entire budget.
It shows in what tops the charts: two of South Africa's three most-downloaded apps are cut-down Lite builds, and one advertises data saving in its name.
What it would do
Show which apps consume the bundle, forecast when it runs out, and recommend the cheapest bundle for the actual pattern — with a telco partnership as the distribution and billing route.
This is a researched proposal, not a commitment. Nothing here has been validated with a paying customer yet.
